Siblings // Toby and Gabe in March (2018)

Toby and Gabe in the snowdrops

It’s the 15th of the month which means we’re back with another Siblings Project post. It feels like it’s been quite a while since I wrote last month’s post. We survived the end of half term, the boys went back to school and preschool, we went on a snowdrop walk, Gabe broke his foot (and healed again) and here we are only a week and a bit from the Easter holidays! Crazy brothers giggling together

After January lasting for an eternity we seem to have got to the middle of February remarkably quickly! When I wrote last month’s Siblings post Toby had only been back at school a week and it’s already half term! He’s only back at school for another five weeks and then it will be the Easter holidays – I have a feeling the rest of this school year is going to absolutely fly by. Read more

Gabe thinks his brother is the best thing ever

So here we are in December and we’ve made it to the end of another year of Siblings posts, even if I did miss out a few months at the start of the year! I’m a couple of days late with this month’s post though – which is partly because I didn’t really have any pictures of Toby and Gabe, but also because I couldn’t think of anything very positive to say! Siblings sharing a snack

I can’t believe another month has gone by already! Although saying that we’ve had a holiday since last month’s Siblings post so the boys have had plenty of time together. I mentioned last month that Toby and Gabe are finally starting to get on a bit better – and that has continued into this month too. Read more

Toby and Gabe - siblings walking home from school together

Not much more to report on the siblings front really. Life continues much the same. Toby is finding Gabe a lot more fun now he can talk, and Gabe still just idolises his big brother. They still spend a lot of time fighting but they are starting to realise they can actually play together too – especially since they have a shared love of all things dinosaur. Read more

Toby and Gabe are best of friends

I swear I only just wrote last month’s Siblings post but it’s definitely that time again! Toby and Gabe have actually been getting on a bit better the last month. I think Gabe being able to talk more (and stand up for himself a bit) is definitely helping. Toby has been trying to include him in his play a lot more too – it’s like he’s realised Gabe really isn’t a baby anymore. Read more

Toby and Gabe drawing together

There’s not really anything new to say this month – Toby and Gabe still fight and bicker all the time. I think it’s actually ramped up a notch now Gabe has learnt the word ‘mine’! But having said that there are more moments where they play nicely together, or they have a sweet moment.

Toby loves making Gabe laugh, and is pretty good at doing it, and Gabe still just wants to do everything his brother does. He will literally copy everything Toby does – the other day Toby slipped going downstairs – he just ended up sitting down on the top step but sat down quite hard and hurt his bum a little bit. Gabe who was coming downstairs after him then proceeded to sit down on the step and say ‘ow’ too!

I’m still holding out hope that as Gabe starts to talk more and more and becomes more capable physically they will be able to play together more. Toby did say to me yesterday though that Gabe is his best friend in our family. I mean there’s only the four of us but still, it was very cute.

Toby and Gabe - my two peas in a pod

Of course everything will probably change in a couple of months when Toby is at school and Gabe gets more time with me on his own. I think Gabe is really going to miss his big brother, even if they do spend half their time arguing at the moment!

T R O U B L E // These two just look like they're up to mischief don't they? We made a den underneath their little table and once we'd extended it make sure there was enough room for both of them they had a lovely time. I felt like I had a real glimpse of the future today too – Toby had his second transition session at school this afternoon and walking along to pick him up, with Gabe in the buggy just made me realise what life could be like in September. Of course I might still go back to work teaching and then our lives will look completely different…but even though I always said I didn't want to do it, being a stay at home mum is looking more and more appealing. #glimpseofthefuture #stayathomemum

One thing is for sure these two definitely love each other like only brothers can. And I know I say it every month but I can’t wait to see how their relationship continues to develop.

Siblings // Toby and Gabe in June (2017)

It’s been a month since I last wrote a Siblings update and to be honest since last month things are much the same with Toby and Gabe. They still bicker and argue all the time but they are starting to play together, or at least in peace, a lot more too.

I’m just going to share a few pictures that I’ve taken over the last month. I’m still loving putting the boys in matching clothes when ever I can get away with it (it’s always just matching prints rather than completely identical outfits though) and I love this pineapple print from Maxomorra that I wrote about a couple of weeks ago.

These robots are Maxomorra too and this picture was when we were at my mum and dad’s house on my birthday. I think this is one of my favourite ever pictures of Toby and Gabe Read more
