We’ve had a relatively quiet week as we’ve settled back into the school routine. Monday morning was pretty uneventful really, and I think Toby and Gabe were glad to get back to the familiar, even if they did moan about it a bit! Read more
Living Arrows
Living Arrows is a weekly linky celebrating childhood. The project originally took its name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” and every Monday I share what we’ve been up to during the past week along with a picture of each of the boys.
I’ve been writing these posts since January 2014 and you can find all of the posts below.

And so the Easter holidays are over. It’s been a long two weeks but we’ve had some great times (and plenty of squabbles too!) – I can’t say I won’t be pleased to have a bit of time back to myself tomorrow morning when Toby and Gabe are back at school and preschool. Read more

And so we’re half way through the Easter holidays and it’s April already. We went away for a few days last week and although the weather wasn’t brilliant we seemed to avoid the worst of it. We stayed in a cottage in Yorkshire for three nights and did plenty of exploring while we were away. Read more

We have made it to the Easter holidays, thank goodness! Toby has been so tired and emotional the last week that I’m really hoping that a couple of weeks off school will give him chance to rest and recover. Both the boys are full of a cold at the moment too, which I’m sure is just a side effect of their tiredness. Read more

It’s been another normal week here, but a busy weekend with visits from my in-laws, and my brother and sister-in-law. I think it had all caught up to Toby and Gabe by bedtime last night though and both went a bit silly. That’s nothing new though really – do anyone else’s children go a bit bonkers as soon as it’s bedtime? Read more

With Gabe now walking normally again on his fully functioning foot we were all back to our usual routine this week. Thankfully Gabe was happy to go back to preschool again, and we didn’t have any tears from Toby at school this week either. Read more

Well, this week has not been the most fun in our house. On Monday night, just as we were tidying up and about to start getting the boys ready for bed, Gabe decided to jump off the sofa. He has done it a million times before and has always been fine but this time he landed and then started crying. Read more

Half term is over (well it will be tomorrow – Toby has an INSET day today) and I have to admit we’ve not had the most exciting of weeks. The weather was pretty awful for the first part of the week – we did manage our first ever trip to the library so hopefully we’ll keep that up, and on Wednesday we went to the shop where we got our wedding cupcakes from to get Valentine’s cupcakes for us all. So we made it to half term! Last week was another quiet one really – we really don’t do much during the week when the boys are at school and preschool apart from their usual swimming lessons. We did have Toby’s first proper parents’ evening on Thursday night though, and we came away feeling very proud. Read more
