And so we have finally made it to February and week 6 of Living Arrows. I can’t think what we’ve been doing this week – so I think it probably wasn’t much! The weather has been a bit better at least so we managed to walk most of the school runs this week. Read more
Living Arrows
Living Arrows is a weekly linky celebrating childhood. The project originally took its name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” and every Monday I share what we’ve been up to during the past week along with a picture of each of the boys.
I’ve been writing these posts since January 2014 and you can find all of the posts below.
Living Arrows 5/53 (2018)
Is it just me or has January been the longest month ever?! It’s just been another normal week for us really. The weather has been a bit better this week at least so we’ve managed to walk on a few more school runs. Read more

It’s been a quiet week here – the weather has been horrible, pretty much constant rain, so we haven’t done much. Gabe and I made it to stay and play at our local gymnastics gym on Wednesday – I used to take both boys but we haven’t been since the summer. Gabe really enjoyed himself so we’ll definitely make an effort to go again. Read more

So this week saw us back to the school and preschool routine. I was really pleased that Toby and Gabe both settled right back into it with no problems, and Gabe even enjoyed his first full day at preschool too. They were both quite tired by the end of the week though, so on Saturday we mostly spent the day at home. Read more
Living Arrows 2/52 (2018)
As I write this I am preparing for our return to the routine of school and preschool runs tomorrow. Toby didn’t break up for Christmas until 23rd December so we’ve had another full week at home this last week. It was a bit like the week before though to be honest, we didn’t really get up to much! It’s a little late in the day but I couldn’t not publish my first Living Arrows post of 2018 on the first Monday of the year. Hopefully after this week I can get back to my posts being a bit more timely! If you read my last Living Arrows post you’ll know that I have been taking part in this linky since it started in January 2014 which means we are now heading into our fifth year of weekly pictures of the boys! Living Arrows 52/52 (2017)
I’m writing this at 10pm on Christmas Day. The last week passed quickly and uneventfully. The boys (especially Toby) were super excited last night but went to bed without any argument and slept until just after 7am so I can’t complain! Read more
Living Arrows 51/52 (2017)
And so we are heading into our final week of term (yep, Toby doesn’t break up until Friday so we’ve got a whole week to go). The nativity has been and gone – Toby made an excellent cow, and there’s just school and pre-school Christmas parties to go. Read more

Week 50 – only another weeks to go before the end of the year, and I’ll have completed my fourth year of Living Arrows. This week has mostly been about Christmas (unsurprisingly!) – there’s been a lot of talk about the baby Jesus from Toby, and he’s still been practising for his nativity, which he’s doing tomorrow and Wednesday. Another week gone and now we’re actually in December it feels like Christmas is just around the corner. Toby is busy practising for his school nativity, there’s the Christmas fair on Friday this week, I’ve got a night out with some of the school mum’s next weekend, and Barry’s got two Christmas nights out coming up in the next couple of weeks too.
