We’re on the home straight to the Easter holidays now, and the boys are definitely ready for a break. Toby at least managed to sleep late this weekend and get a few extra hours in this weekend but I think Gabe needs a rest to get over the cold he’s got at the moment. Read more
Living Arrows
Living Arrows is a weekly linky celebrating childhood. The project originally took its name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” and every Monday I share what we’ve been up to during the past week along with a picture of each of the boys.
I’ve been writing these posts since January 2014 and you can find all of the posts below.

It’s been another quiet week for us (I seem to say that every week, but we really don’t do much during term time!) I spent the second half of the week baking a cake for my dad and then on Saturday night we went out for a meal to celebrate his 70th birthday. Read more

We’ve not done much this week. The weather has been awful, like much of the rest of the country, so apart from school, swimming lessons and Gabe’s singing group and soft play we haven’t really been anywhere.
There’s been a lot of LEGO play this week, and a fair bit of screen time but the boys have been happy and have actually been playing really well together lately. Read more

Another week has flown by – I can’t believe we’re on week 10 of the year already! This is such a short half term too. The boys have only just gone back to school and nursery but it’s only four weeks until they break up again! Read more
Living Arrows 9/52 (2019)
I’m back again with another Living Arrows post – these seem to be pretty much all I’m posting on my blog at the moment, but I’m glad I am because without these posts I probably wouldn’t be writing anything at all! Read more
Living Arrows 8/52 (2019)
Well, just like that half term is over and we’re back to school and nursery this morning (and I’m taking the opportunity to try and get the house clean and tidy again!) We’ve had a lovely week off – well me and the boys at least, poor Barry has still been working. Read more
Living Arrows 7/52 (2019)
Last week was the last week of school for us and apart from a school disco for Toby it was a quiet one as usual. This weekend though was a little bit different. For the second time ever we left the boys overnight with my mum and dad and went away. Read more
Living Arrows 6/52 (2019)
It’s been a bit of a strange week here – I went to a funeral in Leeds on Wednesday, which meant swapping Gabe’s days at nursery and it’s made me feel a bit topsy-turvy all week. The boys both seem really tired at the moment too, I think we’re definitely ready for half-term next week! Read more
Living Arrows 5/52 (2019)
We have finally made it to February after what seemed like the longest month ever! We are all still a bit ill but after hibernating for most of January we really needed to get out somewhere this weekend. It was actually lovely and sunny on Saturday but still very cold so we decided to go and play crazy golf.
Living Arrows 4/52 (2019)
This is going to be a short post this week because we really haven’t done anything at all! Well, I went to London on Thursday to see Hamilton which was brilliant, but I started getting a headache on the train on the way home, which turned into some sort of sinusitis and I still feel rubbish now.
