Another week over already. Toby is very much on the countdown to Christmas already and has been writing his letter to Father Christmas this week. I think we’ll manage with most things he’s asked for, except perhaps the pet tortoise! Read more
Living Arrows
Living Arrows is a weekly linky celebrating childhood. The project originally took its name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” and every Monday I share what we’ve been up to during the past week along with a picture of each of the boys.
I’ve been writing these posts since January 2014 and you can find all of the posts below.
Living Arrows 45/53 (2018)
If you read my Living Arrows post last week you’ll know we had a lot of tears on the first day back at school and nursery last week. Fortunately it was short-lived and Toby and Gabe were both OK for the rest of the week. Toby went in every day with a big smile on his face and Gabe, despite moaning about not wanting to go to nursery, was absolutely fine when he got there and didn’t even cry when I left him! Read more

And just like that half term is done. Unfortunately we had quite a lot of tears about going back to school and nursery this morning but I’m hoping it’s just because it was the first day back and tomorrow will be better. We didn’t do an awful lot during the holiday – both boys just need time at home to decompress, relax and recover I think and hopefully they managed to do that. Read more
Living Arrows 43/53 (2018)
Although it doesn’t seem like Toby has been back at school for long, it’s actually been seven weeks and that means it’s half term time. We definitely need it here – both boys are shattered, they’ve both got colds and they are just generally in need of a break and a few days lying around at home and not doing much. Read more
Living Arrows 42/53 (2018)
It’s been a fairly quiet week here, just the usual school and nursery and running errands. We’ve only got one week to go until half term and I think the boys are both ready for a break. I really need to think of some things to fill our time though or it won’t feel like much of a break for me! Read more
Living Arrows 41/53 (2018)
Monday again! Another week done which means it’s time for another Living Arrows post. I was away this weekend in the Lake District with a lovely group of bloggers (I’ll be writing all about it very soon!) so it meant picture taking duty fell to Daddy again this week. Read more
Living Arrows 40/53 (2018)
I swear I only wrote last week’s Living Arrows post two minutes ago – I don’t know where the time is going at the moment. I’m sure the boys only just went back to school and nursery but it’s October already, and half term in three weeks! Read more
Living Arrows 39/53 (2018)
The last week seems to have absolutely flown by. We’re definitely back into our routine of school runs, swimming lessons and weekends of recovery! Toby and Gabe have both been much more settled going to school and nursery this last week so hopefully the worst is now behind us. Read more
Living Arrows 38/53 (2018)
I’m a bit late with today’s Living Arrows post – I was away at BlogOn, a blogging conference in Manchester this weekend and didn’t get round to writing my post when I got home last night. I had a fab weekend away so Daddy was on photo taking duties this weekend. Read more

Well I don’t know about you but we are well and truly into autumn up here in the north. The boys are back at school. Strictly and The X Factor are back on the telly and I’ve even had to turn the heating on this week! Read more
