I currently have an iPhone 6 and although the camera is good I still tend to use my DSLR for blog photos and even for Instagram pictures most of the time. But carrying a bulky DSLR around all the time is a pain and so I don’t always get the pictures I’d like. So when the fabulous people at Three sent me a shiny new iPhone 8 Plus to try out I was keen to see if the camera really was good enough to permanently replace my DSLR. Read more
Another week done, no half term for us yet though – Toby has still got another week at school to go before he breaks up. We’ve not been up to much this week, other than school and swimming. Toby is four years and three months old. He’s never dressed up as Superman, or Spiderman or Batman – to be honest I’d be surprised if he even knew who they were. He doesn’t want to be Ironman, or a Power Ranger, he only became aware of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles about a month ago. Read more

Toby will become a teenager in 2026 and Gabe will join him in teenager-dom in 2028. For someone who was born in the 1970s the 2020s feels like it is properly in ‘the future’. Not much more to report on the siblings front really. Life continues much the same. Toby is finding Gabe a lot more fun now he can talk, and Gabe still just idolises his big brother. They still spend a lot of time fighting but they are starting to realise they can actually play together too – especially since they have a shared love of all things dinosaur. Read more
Toby has been scared of dogs since he was not much over two, probably since he started walking further outside and encountered a lot of dogs – and some of them were bigger than him! His fear seems to have phases where it gets better and worse. At the moment we’re going through a fairly good patch but I thought it might be useful to share some of the ways we have helped Toby with his fear of dogs. Read more
