Back in 2014 I tried out the Exante Diet Total Solution for one week and wrote all about it here. Since then I’ve had another baby and moved house, and found myself in need of losing some weight again. Having two small children though means that a total meal replacement diet isn’t really what I’m looking for any more. And so that’s where the Exante Diet Flexi Solution comes in.
The Flexi Solution is a 1200 calorie flexible diet – it combines two Exante meal replacement products, one healthy recipe meal and an Exante snack every day. This kind of plan fits in really easily to my family life – I can have my meal replacements for breakfast and lunch but still eat dinner with the rest of the family. We try to eat healthy meals anyway so with a few adjustments we can still all eat the same meal in the evening.
I’ve used meal replacements quite a bit in the past and I always prefer to stick to shakes but Exante have a great variety of other products to choose from too. From pancakes and porridge for breakfast to meals like bolognese, curry or even pizza and burgers there’s something for everyone. Exante also have a selection of different meal replacement bars and even their own snacks too.
Exante sent me a few products from their range to try – over the last few days I’ve had strawberry shake, cookies & cream shake, cookies & cream bar, and chocolate caramel crunch bar. The shakes were lovely – I always make them just with water and use a stick blender to mix them. A shake might not seem like much but it’s surprising how long they can keep you full for.
I’ve had a few really quite nasty meal replacement bars in my time but I was pleasantly surprised by the two Exante bars I tried this time. The cookies & cream bar was lovely and chocolately and almost a cakey texture My only complaint was that the little cookie pieces on the outside kept falling off so I’d advise you eat it over a plate!
The chocolate caramel crunch bar was nice too – it isn’t really crunchy but it has a sort of biscuity inside coated in chocolate. I did struggle to eat the whole thing as it was quite big but it definitely kept me full until it was time for my next meal.
I have been having two meal replacements and a healthy meal most days since the start of January and I have lost just over 11lbs in that time. This kind of flexible plan isn’t a quick fix – weight loss isn’t as rapid as it would be if you follow the Total Solution – but it is much more easy to maintain and fit into my normal life.
