Remembering Childhood // The UnNatural Mother

It’s that time of week when another blogger is going to be sharing their childhood memories. This week it’s Becci from The UnNatural Mother.

Which decade were you born in?

The 80s.

What is your earliest memory? How old were you?

Playing in a Wendy House at preschool aged 4 . I LOVED preschool.

What was your favourite toy at 5 years old? At 10?

At 5 – my dolly called Victoria

At 10 – my roller-skates. They were red and yellow with thunder bolts on them.

Do you still have any toys from your childhood?

Yes, a couple of dolls which Charley plays with and I almost cry every time she throws them about!

Who was your favourite pop group/artist as a teenager?
Spice Girls!! –  Girl Power! I still think I am Posh Spice.
What was your favourite TV show(s)?

Button Moon as a child and then Sex & the City,  Friends and Cold Feet as a teenager.

What was the first film you remember seeing at the cinema?

Honey I Shrunk the Kids. We went out to Pizza Hut before as a family and it was also my first time eating ‘fast food’.

Do you have any dodgy haircut/ outfit memories that you’d rather forget?

I had a mullet type hair cut when I was three due to cutting my hair with Barbie scissors!

What did you want to be when you grew up?

A ballet dancer when I was small and Carrie from Sex & The City as a teenager.

If you could go back to being a child again what age would you choose and why?

Seven years old as I had a big birthday party and also my primary school won the Skittle Ball league and I was the captain.

Thanks so much for sharing your childhood memories Becci – I loved my rollerboots too, I think we might have had the same ones!
