The end of the month means it’s time for another Me & Mine post – I’m normally saying that time is flying but it actually seems like ages since I wrote our June post.  July was a busy month for us with the whole end of term craziness, and Toby’s birthday too.

Toby turned five near the start of the month, and as I mentioned last month both he and Gabe got new bikes for their birthdays (even though Gabe’s isn’t for another few weeks). I think he was possibly just as excited about being allowed to go to school in his own clothes as much as anything else though.

The weekend before Toby’s birthday we had a day out at Legoland in Manchester. The weather was still roasting and England were playing in the World Cup so it was super quiet and the boys had a great time. I’m sure it won’t be too long before the convince us to go back again.

The weekend after his birthday we had a party at home just for family and my friend Claire and her twins. All the boys had lots of fun playing in the garden, and on the street on their bikes and scooters. We managed to get this month’s Me & Mine picture at the party – I’m not sure what’s going on with my face, I always seem to be squinting in our family pictures but everyone looks happy anyway…

After that we had to make it through the last week of term with two very tired boys but we did it and we’ve now had a week and a bit of the summer holidays. The first few days were a bit of a nightmare – Toby and Gabe were just constantly fighting, but they’ve got used to each other being around all the time now and the squabbling has calmed down a bit thankfully!

This weekend we’re heading off to France for our first family holiday abroad since Gabe was born – we’re all very excited but I’m also slightly stressed about making sure we’ve got everything and taking the boys on a plane. I’m sure we’ll be fine though and as my mum and dad, and brother and sister-in-law are coming too we might actually get a real break for once!
