We had a busy week at school last week. Luckily the rain held off for Sports Day on Thursday and then our Jubilee celebrations on Friday. I think this might be the first year since the boys have had sports days that I’ve not used photos of them competing for my Living Arrows post, but as I now work at their school it was a bit tricky to take pictures this year!
Instead of sports day, this week’s photos are from a birthday party that the boys went to on Saturday. It was a joint party for a brother and sister who are in Gabe and Toby’s classes at school so they were both there. After the last few years it was just lovely to see all the children together enjoying a party again!
There was a bouncy castle that Gabe especially loved. Of course he managed to hurt his finger with in the first 5 minutes but he did get back on and was doing some impressive bouncing!
At the party they also had a lady come with some exotic animals to show the children. There was a giant snail (which I was very impressed that Gabe actually held!), a cockroach (!), a tree frog, a tortoise and lastly a corn snake. Toby had held a snake at a different party last month and came home declaring he now wants a pet snake so I knew he was probably going to like this one too…
As you can see he was loving it. It was a very inquisitive snake though and kept trying to sneak up under his hoody! It didn’t put Toby off though and now he wants a pet one more than ever!
That’s all for this week. We’ve only got two more days at school before a very welcome week off. We’re going camping again next week and we’re all looking forward to a well earned break I think!
This is my ninth year taking part in this linky celebrating childhood, based on a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” .
If you’d like to see the rest of my Living Arrows posts you can find them all here.
I love seeing birthday parties and gatherings again. It’s just so lovely!! Looks like they had a great time x
It amazes me just how brave kids are at Handlung exotic animals at these parties! I would be running and hiding hehe.
Have a lovely week off x
It is so nice that they are going to parties again. We also went through a phase of wanting a pet snake, thankfully it seems to have been forgotten about! Enjoy your camping trip x
