I can’t believe it’s Monday again already – are the weeks just flying for anyone else at the moment? I feel like I’m a bit of a stuck record with these posts sometimes – mostly our weeks are the same from one week to the next!

We did have something a bit different this week – Toby went to Beavers for the first time on Monday. He was old enough to go before the summer but there wasn’t a space at our local group. It’s also quite a late night for him so we were happy to wait until he was settled into Year 2 before starting.

Toby does get worried about new situations and can take a while to settle in so I wasn’t sure how it was going to go. He was OK but wanted me to stay with him so I stayed for about half an hour and then convinced him he would be OK if I went and sat in the car.

By the time I went back in to pick him up he was loving it and didn’t want to leave! We’re going back tonight so hopefully I’ll be able to just drop him off tonight. I’m so pleased he enjoyed it – I come from a Scouting family and I couldn’t imagine the boys not being part of that too. The only problem we have now is that Gabe wants to go too!

This week’s pictures were taken yesterday when the boys were helping me with a Christmas card craft for a blog post I’ve got coming up soon. When we were finished Toby wanted to take some pictures too. He loves using the DSLR and is actually pretty good at it. He’s definitely a blogger’s son!

Gabe has got another cold at the moment. He’s fine but when the weather was horrible on Saturday we decided not to go to Forest School because I don’t think it would have done him any good (and to be honest I didn’t fancy getting cold and wet in the woods either!)

As you can see, he doesn’t exactly look ill so hopefully he’ll shake his cold pretty quickly. And this lovely picture was another one taken by Toby – he really is quite good for a 6 year old!
