I started writing these Living Arrows posts in 2014 and in seven and a half years I have only missed two weeks, and that was back in 2015… until last week! I always used to write the post on a Sunday night, ready to publish on a Monday morning, but for the last month or so they have been getting later and later in the week.
This weekend it got to Saturday and I still hadn’t done last week’s post, and I realised that it really didn’t matter to anyone except me if I missed a week, so that’s what I’ve done, and hopefully I’ll be able to stay on track now.
Last week Gabe was invested into Beavers. He’s been going since the start of September and he was so happy to get his necker and badges.
Toby’s picture was just taken at home – he was lying on the floor playing on his tablet with all his hair hanging down. Both boys could do with a haircut really but I tend to just do it in the holidays unless it’s really desperate so they’ll just have to wait another week and a bit until they’re off school…
I was all set to write this post at the beginning of the week but then my blog broke and I’ve had this horrible cold that’s been doing the rounds and things just got away from me again. Then last night both boys started coughing and this morning Gabe woke up with a temperature…. so they both had PCR tests this morning and the day off school. I’m hoping it’s just this cold that I’ve got and that the test results come in over night so they can go to school tomorrow… cross your fingers for us!
This is my ninth year taking part in this linky celebrating childhood, based on a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” .

I know what you mean about the posts – I’d feel so bad if I missed one and really, the only reason I do them every week is because I’m hosting! But now that I’ve in the swing of them I’d feel like something was missing if I didn’t do them each week. I can’t believe we’ve been doing them for so long!x
I get annoyed with myself if I miss it. Silly really. No need to put more pressure on ourselves really. Mine both need hair cuts by like you I am waiting for the holidays. I really hope the tests come back negative for you x
I’m the same as you with missing one! Why do we put pressure on ourselves when really it sums up some weeks to just skip one! Teddy can hardly see out of his fringe right now! Game looks very proud, so cute! x
