Living Arrows 41/52 (2019)

I don’t know what it’s been like where you are but it feels like it hasn’t stopped raining for weeks up here on the Fylde coast! We’ve had some very soggy school runs, although I have to admit we have been taking the slightly drier option of using the car.

Very luckily for us though, on Saturday the rain stopped and the sun shone for our monthly visit to forest school. I couldn’t believe how nice it was actually, especially when the rain came back with a vengeance yesterday!

I’ve spoken about forest school before, and you may have read that the boys had their birthday party there. They really do love it though. Toby especially loves the freedom of being able to go off and explore the woods with the other children. I hardly saw him in the two and a half hours we were there yesterday!

Gabe really enjoys himself in the woods too, although he likes to stay close to me most of the time. The younger children who had been at the morning group had set up a ‘musical tree’ with lots of things hanging from it to hit and bash.

You can see how much fun Gabe had with it – he loved the noise this metal champagne flute made.

So, that’s it from me for this week, we’ve only got four more days of school to go before the boys break up on Thursday and then we’re heading up to the Lakes on Friday for a couple of nights staying in a Hobbit Hole – I just hope we’re as lucky with the weather as we were on Saturday!

This is my ninth year taking part in this linky celebrating childhood, based on a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” .
