It’s been another good week for Toby and Gabe back at school. Gabe especially is absolutely loving being back and he is really thriving in Year 1. Toby is doing great too but doesn’t seem quite as enthusiastic about Year 3 – I think being in the juniors now is a bit of a change for him.

Both boys seem to have recovered from their colds pretty quickly. I know a lot of people have been having to get Covid tests for their children when they’ve been ill but Toby and Gabe were both just really snotty so we were confident it was just a cold for both of them. We did check their temperatures every day before sending them to school too.

It’s so tricky at the moment though. I’m sure I’m not the only parent worrying every time their child so much as clears their throat! We were lucky this time but I’m sure these won’t be the last colds the boys get. We’ve just been put under local restrictions again because of the increasing cases in Lancashire so we’re back to not being able to see my parents again for who knows how long. So far though, school is still open and hopefully it will stay that way.

Toby and Gabe are both tired at the moment, although that doesn’t stop them getting up at 7 am every day! Actually Gabe has been up at 6:30 nearly every day this last week because he’s been having nose bleeds again. He has them a lot, especially in warm weather and once he’s had one he tends to have them every day for a week or so until they stop again for a while. He copes with them so well but it’s tiring for both of us being up early every morning.

Anyway, this weekend we didn’t do much apart from a swimming lesson on Sunday morning, and a bit of time in the garden. The boys decided they wanted to do a some scooting after dinner yesterday too so that’s when this week’s pictures were taken.

Toby is a very cautious person generally, and can be quite scared of anything that puts him in any kind of physical danger… but for some reason he doesn’t seem to feel it on his scooter and flies up and down the street with no fear at all!

Gabe tends to be the more fearless of the two of them on the whole, but he hadn’t been on his scooter for a while so it took him a little bit of time to get his confidence back. He was getting there after half an hour outside though.
