The last week has been a little different for us as Gabe went back to school on Monday. The first day he went back with no problems or complaining and had a lovely time. We had a bit more moaning on the other days but on the whole it’s been great for him being back.
Gabe being back at school has meant the house has been very quiet with just Toby at home. We’ve managed to get a bit more school work done than he was doing before (although I have to admit we’ve watched quite a lot of CBBC in the name of education!)
On Thursday we had a trip to the tip (exciting!) and then the park, although at that point all the equipment was still out of action. Toby had an ice lolly though and we enjoyed a bit of time outside somewhere other than the garden.
It made me realise I’ve not really had chance to spend time with Toby on his own for any amount of time since before Gabe was born! I had two years with Gabe after Toby started school but I’ve hardly spent any time with Toby on his own. I think I’m going to try and plan a few things for us to do together over the next couple of weeks – who knows when we might get the chance again!
This week’s pictures were taken during one of our nightly games of Uno. We had never played it before but I saw a pack in Aldi about half way through lock down and we’ve played it almost every night since. It’s such a great game that we can all play, the only problem the boys have is holding all their cards!
That’s all from me for this week anyway, I hope you’re keeping safe and staying sane, and I’ll be back next week with another Living Arrows post. It’s Toby’s 7th birthday next Saturday – he’s asked for a McDonalds and an ice cream from our new local dessert bar so that’s something for us all to look forward to!
This is my ninth year taking part in this linky celebrating childhood, based on a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” .
If you’d like to see the rest of my Living Arrows posts you can find them all here.
So nice that you got some one on one time with Toby and his birthday plans sound ideal! who doesn’t love Mcdonalds and Ice cream! x
Lovely photos 🙂 Nice to have one on one time – so hard to fit it in usually 🙂 #livingarrows
Ha, I love how exciting things like the tip are! We haven’t been yet x
We love UNO! It’s always packed in our holiday bag for some family fun. Time with Toby sounded like just what you needed #livingarrows
I use to love UNO as a child I really need to try it with the boys. I hope Toby has a lovely birthday. I am the same with my eldest and have hardly spent any time with him since his brother arrived!
Alice is obsessed with UNO, she loves it! I’ve been the same with my eldest, enjoying this time with just her, whilst her sister is at school.
