I’m not going to write much today seeing as it’s only a few days since I wrote my last post! The boys both did well back at school and nursery at the end of last week, and then we’ve had a fairly busy weekend. They were both definitely shattered by bedtime last night anyway!
It was a weekend of extremes as far as the weather went. On Saturday it rained all day – in the morning Toby and I walked to town to watch our local Club Day parade. Toby could walk in the procession with his school but both last year and this year he hasn’t wanted to – I think mostly because having not lived here all his life he didn’t really know what it was. So we went to have a look – it was just a shame about the weather! Toby enjoyed watching all the people from the different churches walking in the road, and the various brass bands too (I had no idea our town had so many!) so maybe next year he’ll decide to walk.
In the afternoon we went to our second family forest school session. It was really good, despite the rain. The boys practised their fire lighting skills again, they helped make a cake that was cooked on the fire, made elder bead bracelets and generally just enjoyed being outside in the woods.
And Gabe finally decided that he does like hot chocolate!
Yesterday couldn’t have been more different with the sun shining all day. After a rather unsuccessful trip to the garden centre (can anyone else’s children just not behave themselves in a garden centre?) the boys played in the garden at home for a while.
From waterproofs and gloves one day to sun hats and t-shirts the next!
I’m looking forward to getting back to our normal weekly routine this week – although I can’t believe it’s only six weeks until the summer holidays now!
If you’d like to see the rest of my Living Arrows posts you can find them all here.
Forest school looks like so much fun, I wish we had something like that locally as my two would love it. My to very often don’t behave in shops so I’ve taken to leaving them with hubby in the car so I can shop in peace. Have a lovely week ahead. #livingarrows
Forest school sounds like so much fun, and I love that they do family sessions too. It’s been a really weird week of weather hasn’t it, it was freezing here today! x #LivingArrows
I’m intrigued on how you all made the cake? Being in a parade does sound a little daunting #livingarrows
I envy you the sunshine – we haven’t had much of that at all! x
I wish we had sunshine, its been so horrible here lately. Gorgeous photos x
The weather is so changeable! I find it all very depressing we have had a very wet weekend just gone when I really could have done with the sun. Fingers crossed it gets better! x
