Here I am again, even though I only wrote my last post a few days ago, I’m trying to get back on track. With the boys (and me) back at school now, and back into our normal routine, there really isn’t much to say this week. Even though the pandemic still appears to be in full swing, and there are quite a few cases at school I’m pleased that for the moment at least most things are carrying on as normal.
That means that as well as school, most of the boys’ activities are still on. They are both back at Beavers and Cubs and for now they are still managing to hold in person meetings. Street Monkeys is still on too, which is where I took this week’s photos…
I think I’ve mentioned this before, but Toby and Gabe are in different classes at Street Monkeys, one after the other on a Sunday. So while the other one has their class they sit with me in the café area, eat a packed lunch and play on their tablets. Here’s Toby looking very serious about something he was playing…
We can watch the classes from the café too (or from the viewing area on top of it) but I took this picture of Gabe when he’d gone to have a closer look at what Toby was up to. (And yes, that is a car in the middle of their training area – they get to climb on it and jump off, and it’s got a TV and Xbox inside!)
The only activity that’s not on at the moment for the boys is swimming. That’s nothing to do with Covid though – half the roof blew off the pool before Christmas and they’re still repairing it! I’m hoping it’s fixed soon though because Toby and Gabe were both making really good progress with their swimming and I don’t want them to lose too much time in the pool!
Are your children’s activities still running or are they affected by Covid closures at the moment?
This is my ninth year taking part in this linky celebrating childhood, based on a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” .
If you’d like to see the rest of my Living Arrows posts you can find them all here.
My lot would love Street Monkeys!
We are fairly back to normal with after school activities. We just have Cubs every other week due to having to relocate venues for Covid reasons x
Wow a car! That sounds pretty cool. We are back at all our clubs too and the boys are really enjoying them. Charlie even went ice skating with the cubs on Thursday! Long may it continue although we have rising numbers in the school at the moment so fingers crossed.Have a great week x
Street Monkeys always sounds ace. It’s such a palava with different time lessons but much easier than different days – A and T have swimming lessons on different days and it’s such a pain! x
