It’s only a few days since I wrote my last Living Arrows post so I’ve not really got much to report! After a lovely World Book Day on Thursday with Toby winning the prize for his year group, Gabe then came home on Friday with a Star of the Week certificate so there were celebrations all round in our house!
On Saturday we were back in the woods for a family forest school session with the lovely folks at Roots to Branches. We haven’t been for ages because the family sessions have only been running on Sundays since they started back up after the covid lockdowns, and with the boys having Street Monkeys on a Sunday we haven’t been able to make it.
Luckily the sun was shining and it was lovely to be back. The boys both love the freedom they have to roam without too much supervision, and I’m happy that I get a bit of peace sitting by the fire for an hour or two! This month we were welcoming spring to the woods and the boys both made some natural art…
We also had pancakes cooked on the fire which were delicious…as you can probably tell from Toby’s finger-licking!
We haven’t really got any plans for next week, hopefully this nice weather stays for a bit longer and we can get out and start tidying up the garden before everything starts growing again!
This is my ninth year taking part in this linky celebrating childhood, based on a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” .
If you’d like to see the rest of my Living Arrows posts you can find them all here.
Such lovely celebrations and such great snapshots!
Well done Gabe and Toby – not much to report this week but the things you’ve shared are just lovely! x
Well done boys! Time in the woods sounds perfect, especially with pancakes! x
That sounds like an amazing forest school. I would love to sit by a fire for a couple of hours and not do much! And Yum to pancakes..
