Living Arrows 12/52

We’re into week 12 of the Living Arrows project. If you haven’t been to the I Heart Snapping blog then I urge you to check it out. There are loads of great tips for improving your own photography as well as lots of inspirational photos to look at.

This week Toby is so close to properly crawling! I’ve said before he can get all over the place by rolling and wriggling.

This week has definitely seen an improvement in his commando crawling – he can now go forwards as well as backwards. He has been getting up on his knees for a few weeks too but in the last day or so he started trying to move his legs. The funniest thing though has to be something I’ve only seen him do today – get up on his feet and hands. He looks like he’s practising his yoga poses…until he collapses in a heap on the floor!

I’m sure it’s only a matter of days before he figures out what he needs to do with his arms and legs to really get moving. And then there’ll be no stopping him and we really will need to get a playpen!

Week 11 of Living Arrows photographs. I absolutely love looking at all the other posts each week, even if I don’t quite get round to commenting on them all. If you haven’t been to the I Heart Snapping blog then I urge you to check it out.

This weeks photo is another close up portrait. Toby is generally a very smiley baby but I love to capture his more serious side too. I just love his little face and those eyes that feel like they’re looking right into your heart. I wonder what he is thinking?

I can’t believe we are ten weeks into 2014 already! Where on earth is the time going? Toby is getting bigger and more active every day. I snapped this weeks Living Arrows picture whilst trying to take some photos of a new nappy we’re trying out. I put Toby down facing away from me on the rug and within half a second he had spun round on his tummy and was pushing up trying to get his little baby face in the picture! With all the spinning and wriggling he does it’s like he’s break dancing sometimes.

It’s week nine of the I Heart Snapping Living Arrows project and I’ve not got too much to say about this week’s picture…apart from, just look at him! He’s too cute.

Toby is usually very amenable to having his photo taken – he must be so used to it now, we’ve been doing it almost every day since he was born. I love his expression on this next photo though – it’s just as if he’s saying ‘that’s enough now mum!’. He’s got so much personality these days and I love when I manage to capture it on camera.

Almost at the end of February already and week eight in the I Heart Snapping Living Arrows project.

Toby is so wriggly these days. He’s not mastered crawling forwards yet but he can shuffle backwards and gets about pretty well just by rolling over in one direction then the other. I’m so used to just being able to leave him on his playmat while I get jobs done but now I can’t leave him alone or he’s away rolling under the furniture or getting himself stuck in a corner! And I know it’s not going to get any easier when he starts crawling properly. I think we’re going to have to get him a cage playpen.

Anyway, I managed to get this photo during one of his rare still moments, when he was just lying on the sofa chilling out in the sun coming in through the window.

We’re already up to week seven in the I Heart Snapping Living Arrows project. I’m really behind in visiting other blogs and commenting but I promise to try and get back on top of it this week. I really do like to see everyone else’s photos.

Lots of people comment about Toby’s spiky hair so I thought I’d use this photo which really shows it off! I promise I don’t do anything to it – it just goes like that, as you can see as it’s only spiky on the top and one side.

It’s week six in the I Heart Snapping Living Arrows project. I’m really enjoying using the big camera more and hopefully my photos are getting a bit better.

This week we had one day of sunshine and it happened to coincide with a day that Toby had woken up early from his morning nap, so we decided to go out for a walk – nowhere exciting, just round the houses where we live. Toby was giving it big yawns so I put the SnoozeShade on the buggy but when I peaked in to see if he had fallen asleep he was still wide eyed. So I took this picture through the zip hole!

This is now week four in the I Heart Snapping Living Arrows project – I can’t believe how fast time is going at the moment!

This week I decided to post two pictures. In both pictures I have chosen Toby isn’t looking at the camera and I love the serious expressions he has. I’ve also done a bit of editing on both photos to make them almost black and white. My husband has Photoshop but seeing as I have to borrow his laptop to use it I’ve been doing a bit of experimenting with picmonkey.com. It seems pretty good for what I need it for, for the moment anyway.

Here’s the shots. I’m really pleased with them but please let me know what you think.

So we’re into week three in the I Heart Snapping Living Arrows project. Toby was sat in his highchair in the kitchen while I did the washing up. He was very happy playing with his new toy that he got for Christmas. I really like this toy because not only is it wooden and really well made instead of being plastic and noisy and liable to break, it also has suckers on the bottom so I can stick it to his highchair tray and he can’t throw it on the floor! So while we were in the kitchen I noticed the light was pretty good so I decided to grab the camera and see what we could get. And this is the result…
