The first week of April was the second week of the Easter Holidays for us and after our holiday to Yorkshire the week before we had a fairly quiet week at home. After that it was back to school and preschool for Toby and Gabe, and back to the normal routine.
We don’t seem to have had a huge amount of family time this month – the second weekend of April Barry was down in London for a game developers conference, and then the next weekend I was away at the Flea Enterprises Retreat down in Somerset. I don’t know if the lack of family time has affected the boys but as I wrote in this week’s Living Arrows post, Toby’s attitude and behaviour has been pretty awful this weekend, and Gabe has just been crying about everything. They were both much better this morning though so hopefully it was just a bit of a blip.
Anyway, on Saturday we decided to get out of the house in the hope it would help everyone feel better. Gabe has been asking to go to the beach for about two weeks so we went and took the new kite I got from Aldi the other week. It was pretty cold and windy, but great kite flying weather! If I’m honest it wasn’t the most successful family trip we’ve ever had – and as we walked back to the car Gabe declared ‘I want to go to the farm’. You just can’t win can you?
We did manage to get our family pictures for this month at least. Gabe was crying to start off with and really didn’t want his picture taken, but then he blew a snot bubble out of his nose and that made everyone laugh so we got some half decent ones in the end….
Next month is a big one for me – it’s my 40th birthday at the end of the month so hopefully I’ll have some celebrations to write about for our May Me & Mine post. Until then…
Ahh this is brilliant I bought kites as we have never done kites before and twice we took them to try and it stormed and rained on us by time we got to it. Looks like you had a great time. Lovely family snaps on the beach. #meandmineproject
These are fab Sarah! I brought a kite and yet have not managed to get it out, I must try harder. Have a fantastic birthday and looks forward to seeing you at the weekend x
Haha, I’m glad the snot bubble did the job, they’re gorgeous! Max’s top thing to do on our holiday last week was fly his kite on the beach. My husband got the kite out but did Max care? Not a bit, he was ‘too busy’ digging holes! Kids eh? My husband had fun though!
I just love how fun these photos are, so gorgeous!
