Living Arrows 43/52 (2021)

We made it! We have survived the first half term of school without any of us catching Covid! I’m probably just tempting fate now and we’ll come down with it next week but I’m just glad we’ve made it this far. The last week of term was fairly uneventful – but it did end with very a positive parents’ evening for both boys, and them both getting certificates. Gabe got Star of the Week and Toby’s was for representing the school in an ‘Invasion Games’ competition held at the local high school.

On Saturday we went to see my brother – Toby and Gabe had a great time playing with some of his massive collection of musical instruments, and it was lovely to see him in person for the first time in a few months.

Yesterday we were at Street Monkeys again – the boys really do love it and I just love watching them gain in confidence every week. The picture of Gabe I’m sharing this week is really rubbish quality as I was taking it from the viewing area above the training space but I just love it so I had to use it anyway!

I took Toby’s picture while Gabe was having his lesson. I bought both boys Street Monkeys hoodies last week and they look so cool and grown up wearing them somehow – I think it’s just probably because they don’t usually wear black!

That’s all for this week. We’re off to Edinburgh this morning so hopefully I’ll have some interesting pictures to share with you next week…

This is my ninth year taking part in this linky celebrating childhood, based on a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” .

  1. Hope you had a great half term and enjoyed Edinburgh. It is one of my favourite cities. Love the picture of Gabe! Look at that jump and all the bright colours behind Toby. Mine don’t wear much black either.

  2. Your Street Monkeys sessions always look like such great fun and confidence building too. Toby is looking so grown up, love that the hoodie matches his trainers! x
