Living Arrows 15/52 (2019)

Well that’s one week of the holidays done and one to go! We’ve actually had a really good, chilled out week. I’d even go so far as to say this is the best holiday we’ve had since Toby started school, certainly in terms of how well the boys have got on with each other. We’ve had a nice mix of staying in and going out too. On Monday we did a little Easter hunt organised by our local ranger service. It was only around the park but the boys enjoyed us and it got us out of the house for a bit.

On Tuesday we went to a new indoor play centre. If you’re local to Preston it was the Kinder Hub in Cottam. It’s only been open a month but I’d heard good things about it and I’m glad we gave it a try. There’s a climbing play frame but it’s mostly wooden so not really like a soft play frame. There’s also all sorts of role play things too; a shop and cafe, police car, fire engine, construction area and even A&E!

They run two hour sessions with limited numbers and it’s only for children up to age 7 so it wasn’t too busy and there weren’t lots of big kids running around. Toby and Gabe were happy playing together (and without me!) so I managed to sit and enjoy some relative peace while they played, although I’d left my phone in the car so I was at a bit of a loss about what to do with myself. I ended up writing a shopping list on the back of a receipt that I found in my bag!

Other than a trip to soft play on Friday (where the boys went off and played together without needing me again) we’ve mostly been at home the rest of the week. Today we’re heading to Derbyshire for the rest of the week so there’ll be plenty of outdoor adventures to make up for staying in so much this last week.

This week’s pictures were just snapped at home, hopefully next week’s will be a bit more exciting!

And as you can see, Toby’s front tooth still  hasn’t fallen out! It’s so wobbly now but it’s still hanging in there – I wonder if the tooth fairy will be paying us a visit on holiday?

  1. It’s so nice when they get on and play nicely with each other isn’t it? Mine, thankfully haven’t had too many disagreements – yet! I hope you are having a lovely time away, I look forward to reading about it. #LivingArrows

  2. I remember the first time my boys went off and played, leaving me to enjoy my coffee. It is a great feeling! Sounds like you have had a pretty great first week of the holidays, and I agree, the Easter holiday is one of the best ones.

  3. It’s so nice that they get on better together now and the holidays are getting better for you as a family. I hope they keep getting even better as time goes on x

  4. We stayed indoors quite a lot lately. I just couldn’t bring myself to leave the house. Now that the weather is so good, we’ve been going out more.
