And so we’re half way through the Easter holidays and it’s April already. We went away for a few days last week and although the weather wasn’t brilliant we seemed to avoid the worst of it. We stayed in a cottage in Yorkshire for three nights and did plenty of exploring while we were away.
On our way to Yorkshire we stopped at Gisburn Forest to follow The Highway Rat trail. I’m going to write about it in a bit more detail in another post but safe to say Toby and Gabe both enjoyed themselves, even if it was a bit chilly!
While we were away we had a day out in York too – we used one of the Park and Ride car parks that are around the city. Gabe has never been on a bus before so he was very excited – this is his excited face apparently!
We had a very quiet Easter Sunday – I don’t really go in for the whole egg hunt business so the boys just got their eggs in the morning (which are being strictly rationed – yep, mean mummy!), we had a trip to the park and to Starbucks in the afternoon and that was about it.
We’ve got another week of Easter holidays to go, but Barry is back to work tomorrow so we haven’t got loads of plans. I’m contemplating a trip to the cinema to see Peter Rabbit if I can brave it with Toby and Gabe on my own, and we’re meeting friends later in the week. I’m hoping another week of rest will help Toby get rid of his cold before he goes back to school – the amount of snot that has come out of him in the last week is unbelievable!
And on that note…. I’ll see you for another Living Arrows post next week!
I think you’ve got the right idea with the egg rationing! Daisy can’t have a normal egg, because of her allergies, but she got some ‘chocolate’ which I’m also rationing!
Nothing wrong with egg monitoring. Some photos I’ve seen have been very OTT (although make for cute photos). We only brought J one egg as I knew he’d get loads from family x
Sounds like you had a lovely trip away last week. Gabe does look pretty happy to be on the bus! We get the bus into town now and then and Nerys is always really excited about it! Hope you have a good week and that Toby feels better soon. x #LivingArrows
I love that bus face! I spend half my life on the bus and never look that excited #livingarrows
I love Gabe’s excited face! Did you make it to Peter Rabbit? We loved it x
Wow, Gabe is looking so grown up now. I didn’t realise they had Highway Rat trails – I’m off to google for our closest one x
