Welcome back to another Siblings update – this is only going to be a short one as it’s not that long since I wrote the last one. I wanted to get back on track with linking up in the middle of the month though so here it is.
Things are much the same with Toby and Gabe they still annoy each other all the time but we are seeing a more and more moments of them actually being affectionate towards each other and getting along. It’s so funny though – Toby has realised that if he gives Gabe a spontaneous cuddle then he will usually get some praise or acknowledgement. We’ll often say something like ‘that’s kind’ or ‘what a lovely cuddle’ – so now if we don’t say something straight away Toby will say ‘look at us mummy’ or ‘I’m cuddling Gabe’ just to make sure we realise he’s being cute! He’s too clever for his own good sometimes.
The best moments for me though are the ones that I catch that aren’t just being done for my benefit. The other day we came home from nursery in the dark. I left the boys in the car on the drive while I unlocked the front door and took the bags inside. While I was doing that the internal lights went off in the car and I came back to hear Toby telling Gabe it was OK and that I would be back soon. It’s the little things like this that make me realise they are heading in the right direction with their relationship. I am ever hopeful that when Gabe is a bit bigger and can play rather than just destroy that they will have loads of fun together.
The only big development this month is that we have finally started bathing the boys together. If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook then you might have already seen this…
I’m so happy about this, and it makes bath time a bit quicker too!
I love the clothes you dress your boys in – bright and bold! How sweet that Toby is reassuring Gabe. That’s proper brotherly love đŸ™‚ #SiblingsProject
I think they are going to have the best of fun as they grow up. These photos are so sweet of them together. They will change so much this year, it will be lovely to see X
Oh bless them, my kids love their bath time together, and I think it’s one time when they really can all play properly together. Even if it is rather loud. Thanks for linking up with us. x
It is so nice when you over hear the kindness of siblings that isn’t for the parent win isn’t it? Always melts my heart x
