Bath time (The Ordinary Moments #11)

I’m linking up with Katie at Mummy Daddy Me again this week for some more ‘Ordinary Moments’.

Baby bath time

Toby usually gets a bath about three times a week. Bath time is very much daddy’s domain and up until now we’ve been using a lie-back bath support but Toby has started to get very wriggly (both in and out of the bath!) lately. We decided that a bath seat might help and got this one in the Kiddicare sale. It has suckers to stick it to the bottom of the bath but also swivels on its base to make it easy to get your baby in and out. Toby seems to quite like it so far although daddy reckons it’s harder to wash him in it.

Toby doesn’t mind the bath at the moment but I wouldn’t really say he enjoys it. He got some bath toys for Christmas but isn’t too interested in them yet. I’m really looking forward to the days when bath time becomes a fun end to the day…and we can make soap sud mohicans!

  1. I’ve been looking into getting one of these seats too but didn’t realise they were in a sale, will have to check out kiddicare thank you πŸ™‚
Sure Toby will start to love his baths more soon. Eliot has enjoyed from the early days luckily x

    1. I’m sure he will! He doesn’t not like bath time – I think he’s just usually a bit tired and hungry by then. I could do it earlier but it’s nice to wait until daddy’s home from work so he can do it.

  2. Little Man is only just getting used to baths here. They’re very hit and miss! That seat looks fab, we have a Mothercare Aquapod, it’s great this time round as has the bathmat for A to sit on too x

  3. We had these seats too. They were invaluable to us, it took a while to get used to them, then when we stopped using them they both sobbed! Bath-time will become super fun very soon I’m sure πŸ™‚

  4. Bath time is a man’s job in our house too! Although while J is still small we both end up doing it and looking after one kid each. We have a very similar seat and it is much trickier to wash them, I’m looking forward to when he can just sit on a mat now x

  5. Bath time is daddy time here too, giving me a much needed breather. I think he’ll like it a lot more once he can move around a bit more. We never did use one of those seats, but they look brilliant.

  6. Soap sud hairstyles are the best! Both of mine are water babies and I am sure Toby will be the same soon enough. Those little chair things look really cute, we didn’t use one with our girls but it was one of those things that was always on our list but that we never got round to getting.

  7. It must be a man thing, as my husband does the bath-time routine too when he is here, i think its nice that they help out!

He looks rather comfy in the chair!

  8. Ah, the soap-sud mohican days are fun! My husband does bath-time with our two, too – they love it and it’s always a raucous affair! Toby looks very cute there, even if he doesn’t quite love it in there yet πŸ™‚ #OrdinaryMoments

  9. We’ve had something similar for our girls and they were fantastic, especially to be able to put Elma in the bath with Kitty for the first time – enjoy the soap hairdos too, they’re just so cute!
