Living Arrows 6/52 (2021)

I really am running out of things to write about in these weekly posts at the moment. Like everyone else I think we are all just in survival mode now – we just do what we can to get through the days, and hold on to the hope that eventually this will all be over one day.

For us, as we navigate our way through this third lockdown, week days are just about getting the school work done and letting the boys have a bit of downtime to play (although all they want to do is watch TV or play video games, despite being in front of screens for their school work for most of the day).

I can’t really complain about the school work – the boys’ teachers are doing a great job of providing a sensible amount of work for them to do every day. And I really do appreciate how fortunate we are to be in the situation we are, where we have everything we need for them to access the learning, and that I’m not trying to fit in home school alongside a full time job, and that Barry is working from home too so he can help out too. I’ll definitely be glad when they can go back to school though!

If the weekdays are about school work then weekends are all about pyjamas, playing and snuggling under blankets. I said last week, Toby has been very cuddly lately, and that hasn’t changed this week. I’m not complaining though, I love a cuddle from my boys!

That’s all for this week – just one more week of school work to go and then we get a week off! Not that we have any plans but it will be nice just to have a week without having to nag the boys to do school stuff every day!

This is my ninth year taking part in this linky celebrating childhood, based on a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” .

  1. Gosh doesn’t Toby look grown up in that picture! I know what you mean about finding it tough to find things to say, the days just seem to be blurring into one at the minute, strangely I’m finding the year seems to be going fast though.

  2. Oh my gosh, I keep saying the same – I just have nothing to talk about at all!! Our weekends are very much the same – pyjamas, blankets and a lot of screen time too! Lovely pics xx #livingarrows

  3. Ah Gabe’s cute little snuggly face!! I’m hoping that over the next week I have something different to write about, it definitely feels ‘same old’ at the moment x
