Living Arrows 48/52 (2021)

One day I’ll actually catch up with these Living Arrows posts…but today is not that day! The boys are getting more excited about Christmas by the day, especially now we’ve started on the advent calendar. We’ve not put the Christmas tree up yet though – that’s a job for this weekend.

Last weekend though we did go to our local Christmas lights switch on. We only live in a small town so it wasn’t massively exciting but the boys enjoyed seeing some of their school friends, getting some cheap, light up sticks, and watching the fireworks.

Next week Gabe has got to do three performances of the nativity at school (he’s playing the Angel Gabriel!) Unless something changes over the weekend we’re still going ahead and letting parents come in to watch, but having a performance for the parents of each class separately.

It’s only the infants who to the nativity – Years 3 & 4 are leading a carol service the week after so hopefully that will still be allowed to go ahead too…. I don’t think I can cope with another Christmas where everything is cancelled!

I hope you are all managing to have some festive fun, even with everything that is still going on!

This is my ninth year taking part in this linky celebrating childhood, based on a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” .

  1. Sounds like a lovely event and they look like they really enjoyed it. Fingers crossed the nativity went ahead, one has gone online and one has gone outside here. It is starting to feel like one of those Christmases again.

  2. Good luck with the performances Gabe! How wonderful that theyre going the extra mile to fid ways to allow parents back in. We’re not allowed to put a foot into our school, it’s becoming very frustrating to be honest! x
