Living Arrows 46/52 (2019)

How are we over half way through November already? I think this time of year always go so fast though because as soon as Halloween is done everyone starts looking to Christmas and it’s here before you know it!

Toby and Gabe are definitely starting to think about Christmas. They are full steam ahead with nativity rehearsals at school – Toby is Wise Man 1, and Gabe is a sheep! Toby has got a few lines to learn this year so we’re practising at home too – I can’t wait to see it!

I mentioned in last week’s post that we wimped out of Forest School because Gabe at a cold, and it was wet and miserable. Luckily we were able to swap to go to this weekend’s session instead, which was the last one of the year.

It was a bit rainy this week too but not as cold this week so we wrapped up and headed to the woods. As you can see from Toby’s smile, he really does love our Forest School sessions.

Gabe is much more confident in the woods now than when we first started going. He loves using a flint and steel to try and light the fire, and then putting sticks on, and wafting it… basically anything to do with the fire! It wasn’t just the fire this week though – he had lots of fun exploring the woods and looking for fairies, and he had a go on the new swing too.

That’s all for this week I think, I’ll be back next week with another Living Arrows post.

This is my ninth year taking part in this linky celebrating childhood, based on a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” .

If you’d like to see the rest of my Living Arrows posts you can find them all here.
