Living Arrows 45/52 (2020)

As we headed back into lockdown, and were on the edge of our seats waiting to see who won the US election, everything else continued much the same as normal for us. As I mentioned last week Toby’s class had to self-isolate due to a case of Covid so after three days of home learning (the rest of the isolation was during half term) he was able to go back to school on Thursday.

For the last month or so Toby has been doing Beaver meetings on Zoom. I’m glad the leaders have been able to get them up and running. Of course it’s not the same as meeting in person but Toby has really been enjoying the sessions.

After having awful weather for the whole of half term it’s been quite nice this week. Typical! Anyway, on Saturday we made the most of the nice weather and got out in the garden for a bit. The boys had one last bounce on the trampoline before we collapsed the net down and put the cover on it for the winter.

The boys helped Daddy with a bit of weeding too and we all collected up some of the thousands of leaves that have fallen from the massive tree at the bottom of our garden! I even let the boys do some leaf printing yesterday with some of the leaves they had collected – I’m not a big fan of having them paint at home but they talked me into it!

That’s all for this week. I hope you’re coping OK with lockdown 2.0 – I’m just hoping it does what it is supposed to and we’re able to see our family by Christmas!

This is my ninth year taking part in this linky celebrating childhood, based on a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” .

  1. I’ve loved seeing how so many clubs and things have managed to carry on despite lockdown and social distancing – the zoom meetings are a great idea! x
