It’s time for another quick Living Arrows post from me… I really need to get to bed because the boys (and me) are back to school tomorrow and I’m really trying to go to bed at a sensible time! I mentioned in my last post that we were about to go away for a camping weekend with friends and both of this week’s pictures were taken while we were away.

We had a brilliant weekend camping in the Lake District – we were with two other families who we know from the boys’ school and it was lovely to be away with other people for a change. We stayed at Baystone Bank Farm Campsite which was a great site for our group – super chilled out, loads of space, and we were allowed to have a fire so there were plenty of late nights sat up chatting until the wood ran out!

On Saturday we spent the day at Muncaster Castle. I would definitely recommend it if you’re in the the area – there’s loads to do and see for kids and the grown ups too. We followed an Enchanted Trail through the woods where Gabe found these handprints…

All the children enjoyed the play areas, and I think everyone’s favourite part was the ‘Skyhunters’ bird of prey display. Toby found a stick of course, as he always does when we go anywhere, although in this picture it looks like he thought it was a javelin!

The boys just had such a brilliant time playing with their friends all weekend. They all put on a talent show for us on the last night we were there – just like I used to do with my brother and our friends on our ‘family camp’ when we were young.

As I write this though the summer is over for another year and it’s back to school tomorrow – I can’t quite believe Toby is going into Year 4 and Gabe into Year 2 already, where does the time go?? If you’re children are back at school this week then I hope it goes well, and if they’re not then enjoy the rest of your holidays!
