I’m going to cheat a little bit with this post and use some more pictures from our holiday. We really haven’t done anything since we got back, except lots of washing and unpacking! The boys have been making the most of a last few days at home before school starts tomorrow.

I say we haven’t done anything – it’s actually the boys who haven’t done anything. Barry had a night out with work on Friday and then on Saturday I went to London to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (which was ace!)

Gabe’s photo this week is just one taken when we went to the market at one of the local towns. It was actually a bit of a rubbish one but it wouldn’t be a holiday in France without a trip to the market!

I can’t believe this boy is starting school tomorrow – he still seems to little and I think we are definitely going to be seeing all the emotions from him over the next few weeks as he settles in and gets used to the big change in his routine.

And as for Toby, I think he’s definitely ready to get back to the routine of school and to see all his friends again. I’m hoping the transition to Year 2 will be a smooth one for him and he’s happy to have his brother at school with him.

Toby’s picture was taken on the water slide at our campsite. I was so proud of him when he first went on it. Despite having lessons for two years now Toby still can’t really swim on his front without a float of some sort (although his back stroke is pretty good!) His confidence in the water has improved loads since last year though – he’s happy in (and under) the water now, and I’m sure the swimming will come soon enough.

The slide was only small (and slow – Toby even got stuck a few times) but he didn’t have any fear going on it the first time, and he loved it the whole time we were there…

I’ll be back next week with the obligatory back to school photos – good luck to everyone else who is facing the return to early mornings and school runs too!
