Living Arrows 33/52 (2019)

I’m late again with Living Arrows this week. Being late last week, and then going on holiday has got me all out of sync. I haven’t missed a post for probably a year or two now though so I’m not about to start this week!

So as I mentioned last week we’re in France at the moment. We’re staying with Canvas Holidays not far from Disneyland (although we’re not going there). I think I’ve mentioned before that I worked for Canvas in the early 2000s, both overseas and in their head office, and we’ve been on holiday with them once before when Toby was a baby.

They’ve changed a lot since I worked for them with I don’t know how many changes of ownership, and to be honest there are plenty of things that could be improved on but we’re liking the site we’re staying on and the accommodation does the job so we’re happy.

If you’ve read my other posts this holiday you’ll know the boys have been hard work this summer, and coming away hasn’t miraculously changed that, but we are managing to have some fun amongst the shouting and fighting so I’m trying just to focus on that.

Yesterday we went to Parc des Félins, a big cat park with lions, tigers, cheetahs, panthers and all sorts of other types of cats. The boys were actually pretty good for most of the day. It was a massive place though so we didn’t get to see quite a lot of it because it was just too much walking for the boys.

There was a little train that took you round the park too – this picture of Toby was taken when he was looking out of the train at some of the lions.

There was lots of the park you couldn’t really see from the train so we walked round part of it too. Both boys were getting tired though (those holiday late nights catching up on them) and had to be carried at various points. Gabe was nearly asleep on Daddy’s shoulder here I think…

Tomorrow we’re going to spend the day in Paris – I’ve no idea how it’s going to go and how the boys will cope in such a big city though… so wish us luck!

This is my ninth year taking part in this linky celebrating childhood, based on a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” .

If you’d like to see the rest of my Living Arrows posts you can find them all here.
