Living Arrows 25/52 (2019)

I can’t believe there are only four weeks of the summer term left! Gabe had his first taster session last week, and really enjoyed himself by all accounts. He told me he ‘played with LEGO and dinosaurs, listened to a story, had a drink of blackcurrant, drew a picture, got a sticker…and had a wee’. Sounds like all the important bases were covered!

I took Gabe’s Living Arrows picture this week when he was out on his bike in the street yesterday. We’re lucky that we live on a quiet cul-de-sac so the boys can safely play in the street, or cycle on the road without any danger.

We really do need to take them somewhere with their bikes that they can just ride rather than having to turn round every 30 seconds. Gabe is doing so well on his bike that I reckon given half a chance he’d be off – it wouldn’t surprise me if he cycles without stabilisers before Toby does!

Toby is still tired and emotional this week, and that means there’s a lot of squabbling with his brother going on. They usually have a bath together but we decided to avoid the fighting for a bit they could have their baths on their own this weekend. It actually worked pretty well – definitely something we’ll do again if we think they need a bit of time on their own.

Toby had fun playing with the bubble machine by himself – I don’t know why all the bubbles come out stuck together like this but he had fun playing with them anyway…

Gabe has got another taster session at school tomorrow, and on Friday Barry and I are going to see Book of Mormon in Manchester, but apart from that I don’t think there’s an awful lot for happening for us. Hopefully a quiet week will do everyone good.

  1. That photo of Gabe is so lovely! M is so nervous on bicycles – we can’t even get her to use her balance bike. Like most things, I think we’ll just need to wait until she decides she wants to do it, and then she’ll be away! #LivingArrows

  2. I haven’t used the bubble machine in the bath for ages! Must do that. Glad the settling in session went well and a very informative description. I can never get anything more out of Monkey other than its fine! x

  3. Good to hear the settling in sessions went well. We took our boys on a bike ride a couple of weeks ago and realised that we need to get M a bigger bike as he’s grown out of his old one already! #LivingArrows
