Living Arrows 24/52 (2021)

Wow, I really am super late this week! The boys have been back at school for almost two weeks since the holidays and I can’t believe it’s only just over four weeks now until the summer holidays! The weather is still roasting here – we seem to have avoided the storm that was forecast over the last few days. I just hope all this sunshine now doesn’t mean we’re going to have rubbish weather for the summer holidays.

We haven’t been up to anything except school and the boys’ usual clubs and activities for the last couple of weeks so I just grabbed these quick snaps on the school run this morning.

Close up of Toby with a navy blue cap on

Like a lot of schools now Toby and Gabe have to wear their PE kit all day on the days they do PE so that’s why you can see Toby’s green t-shirt peaking out under his jumper. There are four houses and they all have different colour PE t-shirts but helpfully they always put siblings in the same house so you can hand the t-shirts down from one to the other.

Gabe holding two halves of a pain au chocolat in front of his face

I’m sure people must think I don’t give my kids breakfast because they walk to school almost every day eating a pain au chocolat (the ones that cost about a pound for 8 from Aldi!) Actually they get up and have cereal at 7 am but by the time we leave for school at 8:15 they’re always hungry again! And I have to cut Gabe’s in half down the middle to try and stop him getting chocolate all over his face before he gets to school…

Does anyone else have to give their children a second breakfast or is it just mine?

This is my ninth year taking part in this linky celebrating childhood, based on a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” .

If you’d like to see the rest of my Living Arrows posts you can find them all here.

  1. We have coloured tees for PE too. I am really hoping that we have the bad weather now and then by the time they break up from school things will be lovely and sunny again. Fingers crossed!
