Living Arrows 12/52 (2020)

I don’t really know what to write this week. Like the rest of the country we are at the start of a very different time in all our lives. So far the boys have taken all the news and school closure in their stride but as we all try to find our new normal I think there will be lots of emotional times to come.

I realise how fortunate we are that I am at home full time anyway and I can fit whatever blog work I have (which is very little at the moment) around the boys. Barry has been working at home full time since last week too so we are both here for whatever is needed.

Toby and Gabe’s school have been great and have sent home learning packs with lots for them to do. We’ve started our home learning (I’m deliberately not calling it school) today with a vague timetable of what we will try and do each day.

I’m going to be very flexible but I know my boys (and me!) need at least some sort of structure or else we’ll all go crazy!

This week’s pictures show things that we will definitely be doing plenty of over the weeks and months to come. Gabe has got really into making Lego sets recently – we’ve got quite a few of the 3 in 1 sets so he’s happy taking the models apart and making a new one every day…

And thankfully the bike and scooter enthusiasm is continuing and the weather has been on our side too. They are both so confident on their scooters now, zooming up and down our street. We still need to work on the bikes a bit but I’m sure we’ll get there some time soon.

I hope you’re all staying safe and well wherever you are. And even though we won’t be going anywhere so I’m updates might not be too interesting I’ll still be here every Monday sharing my Living Arrows pictures each week.

This is my ninth year taking part in this linky celebrating childhood, based on a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” .

If you’d like to see the rest of my Living Arrows posts you can find them all here.

  1. I too fancy keeping things quite vague and not sticking a timetable as such – going with the flow is much more my style. Our Lego will also be coming into play shortly 🙂

  2. We need structure too and have been roughly following a new routine each day. It’s a whole new world for us, and we will need time to adjust x
