Living Arrows 11/52 (2020)

Well it’s been a funny old week hasn’t it? There’s so much uncertainty about corona virus at the moment. We’re trying to keep things as normal as possible for the boys but also trying to prepare them a little bit for what might be coming if schools do close.

Anyway, we are mostly carrying on as normal for now, although we probably won’t be going out quite as much as we would do usually. Luckily, towards the end of last week Toby and Gabe decided they wanted to start practising on their bikes and scooters again.

I don’t think they’ve been on their bikes since last summer. They just haven’t been interested and as much as I want them to learn how to ride them I know from experience that pushing them to do it won’t get us anywhere. They need to want to do it on their own.

They are both still riding with stabilisers at the moment but their confidence is improving all the time so hopefully we’ll be able to get them riding properly soon.

Toby is already doing great on his scooter – he still has a three wheeler but he’s super fast and doesn’t seem to be scared at all, which is a big deal for him. Gabe is getting better at scooting too – they even scooted to school for the first time today.

I hope you are all doing OK wherever you are in the country and aren’t too worried about how Covid-19 is going to affect you and your loved ones.

This is my ninth year taking part in this linky celebrating childhood, based on a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” .

  1. We also had scooters out over here this week – both of mine are still using three-wheeler ones too! I hope you are all well and staying safe x #LivingArrows
