On being a mum

What does it mean to be a mum?

Being a mum is. . .

…seeing my babies for the first time

…sleepy cuddles

…tiny fingers

…tiny toes

…holding hands

…never putting them down

…wiping snotty noses

…wiping stinky bums

…saying no

…tickles

…tantrums

…mopping up tears

…kissing it better

…shouting too much

…getting out of bed for the fourth time in one night

…or the tenth

…watching them learn

…watching them grow

…watching CBeebies and one more episode of Team Umizoomi

…finding lost things

…sloppy kisses

…bear hugs

…putting on coats

…picking up toys

…pushing buggies

…school runs

…bedtimes

…giving him the purple plate

…baking a cake

…reading a story (for the hundredth time)

…knowing the answers

…getting it wrong

…remembering it all

…making it up as I go along

…trying my best

Being a mum is. . .

Love

  1. Beautiful post. There are so many things that being a mum has meant I love, many that would never occurred to me before I became a mum. Like toes, I hate feet, but give me a pair of baby toes and my heart melts. Thank you for joining us at #SharingtheBlogLove

  2. Gorgeous post – it’s all the little things that come together to make the whole. They’re the everyday things you don’t even notice or think about sometimes, but the things that are most important when you think about it. Thanks for joining us at #SharingtheBlogLove
