Remembering Childhood // Whimsical Mumblings

It’s that time of week when another blogger is going to be sharing their childhood memories. This week it’s from Sarah from Whimsical Mumblings.

Which decade were you born in?
I’m a 90’s baby. The decade of MTV, paper fortune tellers, slap bracelets & The Spice Girls.
Sarah from Whimsical Mumblings as a baby
What is your earliest memory? How old were you?

I remember playing ‘mums and dads’ with all my cousins and siblings. I must have been around 7 or 8. My girl cousin always used to pretend to be my husband, and my brother used to pretend to be our pet dog!

What was your favourite toy at 5 years old? At 10?
When I was 5 I had this teddy bear who was quite..flat, and I had this pink toy that looked like a cheap replica of The Pink Panther. They were called Flat Ted & Pinky! (Doesn’t this sound like a superhero duo?!)
When I was 10 my favourite toys were a large Winnie the Pooh, and a cute brown teddy called Jennifer that my mum gave to me when my sister was born.
Do you still have any toys from your childhood?

I have all the above, but not much else. I am NEVER parting with them!

Who was your favourite pop group/artist as a teenager?

Without a doubt, The Spice Girls & BeWitched!

What was your favourite TV show(s)?

When I was really little, my favourite shows were Tots TV, The Little Mermaid TV show and a really peculiar show called Wizadora! (Does anyone remember this!?)

What was the first film you remember seeing at the cinema?

I had probably watched some before this, but I remember watching The Tigger Movie for my brother’s birthday.

Do you have any dodgy haircut/ outfit memories that you’d rather forget?
I had really short brown hair, with blonde highlights! Also, on another occasion, someone styled my hair so I had a fringe and I hated it. So I cut it off. I cut off my fringe! It was stubbly and spiky for months.
What did you want to be when you grew up?

A mummy and a teacher. Still working on the second one!

If you could go back to being a child again what age would you choose and why?

Between the ages of 7-10. Those are the fun ages! When you don’t have a care in the world, and you have a good imagination! You get to play the craziest, silliest games!

Thank you for sharing your childhood memories Sarah – sorry about your fringe disaster, I did that when I was three, using my mum’s nail scissors! And that is such a cute baby picture.

If you enjoyed this post then please do come back next week when another blogger will be remembering their childhood. You can also read all the other posts in the series here.
