#VLOGSTARS // June Favourites

I’m linking up for another #VLOGSTARS video and this month’s theme was June favourites. I’ve watched a few of these favourites videos on YouTube but most of them seem to be about beauty products…and if I’m honest I don’t really use any make up or skin care products (maybe I should start?)

Anyway, here’s my June Favourites – watch to the end if you want to see me trying to get my foot high enough to get it into the shot!

If you enjoyed this vlog then you can also see last month’s #VLOGSTARS video here.

Remembering Childhood // Pass the Prosecco Please

It’s that time of week when another blogger is going to be sharing their childhood memories. This week’s Remembering Childhood comes from Lisa from Pass the Prosecco Please.

Pass the Prosecco Please

Which decade were you born in?

I was born in the 80s.

What is your earliest memory? How old were you?

My earliest memory is being in the South of France age 3. I can remember sitting on a green turtle potty in St Tropez!

What was your favourite toy at 5 years old? At 10?

At age 5 I loved my teddies, I used to love cuddling up to them and I also loved toy cars, I was a true tomboy. I was much the same age 10 except I got a GameBoy (retro right?) for my birthday and Super Mario 6 Gold Coins was my life.

Do you still have any toys from your childhood?

Living Arrows 25/52 (2017)

I can’t believe how fast time is flying at the moment – the last week seems to have disappeared in a blur of interviews, didn’t get the job moping, playing out, trips to the park and then this weekend saw Toby at two birthday parties!

Both of this week’s Living Arrows pictures are just iPhone photos that I managed to grab this week. Gabe’s picture was taken one afternoon after his nap. We went out on the street to play on scooters – after Gabe enjoyed having a go on Toby’s scooter with the seat on a few weeks ago we got him one of his own. The helmet is far too big but I don’t think he’s going to be doing any high speed falls just yet!

Until next week then – which I can’t believe is going to be week 26 and we’ll be half way through the year already!

Siblings // Toby and Gabe in June (2017)

It’s been a month since I last wrote a Siblings update and to be honest since last month things are much the same with Toby and Gabe. They still bicker and argue all the time but they are starting to play together, or at least in peace, a lot more too.

I’m just going to share a few pictures that I’ve taken over the last month. I’m still loving putting the boys in matching clothes when ever I can get away with it (it’s always just matching prints rather than completely identical outfits though) and I love this pineapple print from Maxomorra that I wrote about a couple of weeks ago.

These robots are Maxomorra too and this picture was when we were at my mum and dad’s house on my birthday. I think this is one of my favourite ever pictures of Toby and Gabe Read more

Living Arrows 24/52 (2017)

I’m a bit late with my Living Arrows post this week – there are a couple of reasons for this. I normally write my post on a Sunday night but last night I was preparing for an interview I had today. It was for a part time teaching job starting in September – I’ll hopefully hear tomorrow if I’ve got it but it seemed to go well so fingers crossed!

The other reason I didn’t do my post last night though was that I just didn’t have any photographs of the boys to use! We didn’t do much last week or over the weekend and I didn’t get the camera out and I didn’t even have any usable pictures on my phone.

So anyway, when I got home from the interview today I got the camera out and snapped a few pictures – we’ve not had any close ups for a while and I really like the ones I managed to get today.

Remembering Childhood // Pondering Parenthood

It’s that time of week when another blogger is going to be sharing their childhood memories. This week’s Remembering Childhood comes from Jules at Pondering Parenthood.

Which decade were you born in?

The 1980s. Decade of Margaret Thatcher, the walkman and Ford Escorts.

What is your earliest memory? How old were you?

I think my earliest memory was when I was around four years old. It was my uncle’s wedding and I was a bridesmaid. Strangely, I have no recollection of the bride or the wedding itself, but I do vividly remember my grandmother being helped down a set of steps to a wedding car. It’s funny the things that stick in the mind! I think I must have been worrying that she might fall (she didn’t, thankfully!).

What was your favourite toy at 5 years old? At 10?

At age five, I definitely remember having a red plastic Snoopy lunchbox, in which I kept my prized collection of Neigbours cards! I remember my friend’s mum picking me up from school and she would always take me and my friend to the shop on the way home, to choose some sweets. I always politely declined the sweets but asked for a packet of Neighbours cards instead! I’m still a Neighbours fan now, nearly thirty years on!

Living Arrows 23/52 (2017)

Seriously, where is the time going? I can’t believe we’re in June already and almost half way through the year. It’s seems like I write another Livings Arrows post every three days!

This week’s picture of Toby was taken at home on Thursday while Gabe was having a nap. Can you believe he’s four next month and I have never let him paint at home! I’m really not a big fan of mess and I knew it wouldn’t be fun for either of us with me hovering over him trying to avoid any spills.

But he’s nearly four though, and he doesn’t really like getting messy either, so we gave it a go. And it was great. He spent some time mixing colours to see what happened, then we made a butterfly picture by putting paint on one side of the paper and folding it in half. Finally we made some art for our kitchen wall by putting red and yellow paint on some canvases, covering them in clingfilm then splodging it all together. And I’m actually pretty impressed with them! Anyway, it was a great success – I’m not sure how long it will be before I let Gabe get in on the painting action though!

Sitting in a yellow onesie in my high chair eating Weetabix, I was about 2 and a half I’d say.

What was your favourite toy at 5 years old? At 10?

My doll, called Catherine at 5, and at 10 it would’ve been my arts and crafts box, I was always making something.

Me & Mine // A Family Portrait (May 2017)

I know I say it every month but… where does the time go? May seems to have just disappeared in the blink of an eye!

We did manage to fit in quite a few fun family days out though…

At the start of the month we went to SEA LIFE Blackpool as Toby’s treat for reaching the top of his reward chart. A couple of weeks later we took the boys to Brock Bottom for a picnic and a play in the river – it was a fab day out and one we’ll definitely be doing again.

We tried a few weeks without the reward chart but it seems Toby still needs it to keep him on the straight and narrow for now so he’s just completed another one and our next treat/reward trip is going to be to the zoo so keep an eye out for that one!

Towards the end of the month I went to Manchester to see Take That and then was back again a couple of days later for the Blog On blogging conference. And then this weekend it was my 39th birthday and we celebrated with a BBQ at my mum and dad’s house.

My dad took these Me & Mine pictures for us at the weekend. The weather was a bit grey in the morning but had brightened up by the afternoon and the boys had great fun running round the garden.
